Nexus Graduates Its 20th Cohort!

Nexus is thrilled to celebrate the graduation of its 20th Cohort, featuring 15 dynamic startups from 8 states across India. This cohort stands out with nearly 50% of the startups led by women founders, showcasing the growing impact of women entrepreneurs in India’s startup ecosystem.

The graduation ceremony was presided over by Gloria F. Berbena, Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy, U.S Embassy, New Delhi. Gloria underscored the lasting impact of the Nexus program and the value of continued collaboration beyond the training.

Nexus takes immense pride in the journey of these entrepreneurs, who have demonstrated resilience and innovation throughout the rigorous nine-week training. As they take the next steps in their entrepreneurial endeavors, we wish them great success!

Nexus Conducts Successful Incubator Manager Training Program

Nexus successfully hosted the Incubator Manager Training Program (IMT) at the American Center in New Delhi from February 14 to 15, under the support of the U.S. Government. This program gathered participants from across the country to learn international best practices for planning, launching, and scaling incubators. Over two days, attendees were equipped with essential operational tools and strategies for running successful incubators that support both startups and stakeholders.

The program, which fostered collaboration among various incubators, also created lasting connections through online communities. Led by Mr. Glenn Robinson, Academic Director of the Nexus StartUp Hub at UConn, the training covered key topics related to managing incubators for “deep tech” and social entrepreneurs. With over 40 years of global experience in senior management, Mr. Robinson’s curriculum has been delivered at U.S. Consulates, universities, and private institutions worldwide. The program concluded with outstanding success, receiving 100% positive feedback from participants.

Concept to Commercialization Masterclass

Nexus invited Abhijit (Jit) Banerjee, UConn’s Associate Vice President of Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, has extensive experience in industry, consulting, and university leadership. He specializes in research innovation, technology transfer, patent monetization, and strategic partnerships, with a focus on community impact. Passionate about inclusivity and talent development, he holds a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and an MBA from Suffolk University. The talk explored UConn’s economic impact, key startup fundamentals, and place-based innovation models, highlighting strategies for idea refinement, patent monetization, negotiation, and public-private partnerships. The workshop received 100% positive feedback from the participants. Nexus is grateful to Jit for bringing his extensive experience to startups, and we look forward to having him again.
